oppose Bush's wiretaps? This blows my mind. Do they know that the government is trying to listen in on terrorists' phonecalls to figure out whether they are going to KILL people or not? What possible violation of rights could possibly be that important?

Do Democrats just figure that THEY will never get killed, so they will give George Bush a hard time while he's trying to protect them?

You of course realize FSIA allowed wiretaps with after-the-fact warrants? Bush just decided to blow off the warrants. The concern is that he blew off the warrants because he is listening to his critics as well and he doesn't want the public to know.
