My period is due between Sunday and the 25th of this month. I have a feeling I'm pregnant, should I go ahead and take a test? Which test do u recommend? And if not pregnant how should I go about trying to get pregnant? I was on the depo shot for 3 years before stopped taking it. The last shot was took in January. Could I be pregnant this soon. My period has been on track. Only serious answers.............

I'd wait a bit longer. Right now it might just be a little too early to get the desired result. I got my first positive test on the day my period was due but it was an extremely FAINT positive. I recommend using First Response as they gave me the best "positive" results.

As for getting pregnant, I used the site fertilityfriend.com. It really helped explain when my fertile times were, how to take my temp and time intercourse, etc. There is also a wonderful book out there called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility".

I would imagine that since you are having normal periods after coming off the Depo shot, you shouldn't have any problems conceiving. Normal periods mean that you are ovulating and that everything in your reproductive tract is working properly. I took the Depo shot for five years and it took me almost five years to finally get back to normal...during that time, I was taking fertility meds and trying to "force" my body into acting properly. I finally gave up back in June and found out I was pregnant at the beginning of August.

Talk to your doc about your concerns. He/she will be able to help you with the best route to getting pregnant and check out that site...it's pretty wonderful when you need others to talk to(however, you do have to have a paid membership to be able to access the message boards).

Good luck to you!

I'm sure you're anxious to know. You could buy a home test with two test sticks. Go ahead and do one of them. Maybe you are and it will show it. If the response is neg, then wait until after your period is due (the 25th or 26), if it doesn't begin, then do the other test. Your feelings could be legit, or could be anxiety/wishful hoping. Sometimes an early result is possible, but not always. Just know that if you take the test now, the result may not be reliable if it says "no". I think pretty much all of the tests are the same. EPT always answered my questions, but generic storebrands are just as good as far as I know. Yes, you could be pregnant this soon; even when you are on the shot, it is not 100% guaranteed, silly. If you are not pregnant, wait until approx. 12 days into your cycle (first day of bleeding is day one) and have intercourse every OTHER day for about a 5 day period of time. Beyond that, relax. Good luck.

Yes, it is possible to get pregnant this soon after stopping the depo. You can go to the doctor and have a blood test done now to see if your are pregnant if you don't want to wait, or you can take one of the early response tests that will tell you up to 3 days early, but if you do that I would wait until Sunday, just to be sure. If you want to go ahead and give it a shot anyways you can, but if you don't want to waste the money then I would go to Dollar Tree or Dollar General and get 2 or 3 of the $1.00 tests. They really DO work. You could go ahead and take one if it's negative wait to the next day or just use them for a backup in case you get a positive with the other tests and you want to be sure. :-) That's what I'd do! I get overly excited early too! :-D

The depo shot is very bad it can cause osteoporosis don't take it anymore. They say that it take longer to get pregnant after being on it for so long, but this isn't true. I was on the depo for 1 year and they told me it would take around 6 months to get pregnant and I got pregnant a month after. It all depends on you. Each persons body is very different. If you want to take a pregnancy test you can try EPT it's good. But if it comes out negative and you don't get your period go to the doctor. If you want to get pregnant the best days are after your period ends. Good Luck.

I would wait a little longer to take a test because if you take one too early then you will buy one everyday if it comes out negative. Been there, done that. Use any test. The cheapest one. I used a 3 dollar test (cheapo) when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. You are just paying for the name. You could just run into your doctors office and take a quick test for free. I did the same with the Depo too. You can get pregnant at anytime now that you are off. Try if you are ready too. If it doesn't take for a while then at least you can have fun trying:)

First response says you can test up to 5 days before you are due... so you can take the test but the results might not be accurate. In the last few years I have used the clear blue easy digital and it was 100% for me both times. As for the shot I can't help you there... Good Luck

What are your symptoms?
I know that their is early detection pregnancy test that you can take the first day of your missed period. Although you might have pregnancy symptoms, it is a possibility that you could have a virus or flu bug. If you can't wait, take a test, if it's negative and you still think you might be or your period doesn't come...take another one and get a hold of your Gyno. I know it's hard to wait, but try not to stress (easier said than done, I know)! Good Luck!

I would take an early detecting pregnacy test. They can test real early no. Up to a week. In order to calm your fears. And if you havent had your period by the first of Nov i would go to the doctor and get checked out.

I would wait until the 25th. Tests are usually all the same. I like the EPTs myself.

Wait to take the test. The geniric tests are just as good and cheaper then the name brand ones.
