There was one my Mamere made when I was growing up---didn't stink like tuna, & had shoestring potatoes on top...it was fabulous.
Anyone have a "good" tuna casserole recipe?
I have a 9 yr. old son, who's really skeptical about trying anything besides mac 'n cheese...
(Nasty answers---don't bother...I'm sure I can think of jokes much funnier than yours...)

You TOTALLY got it!!
Thanks to everyone else...I'll try any recipe w/ my son ( we like to cook together---one of the few "connections" we have anymore!)
But this whole thing---white sauce, getting rid of the peas (as an adult, that's the one veggie I can't stand...!)---that's the answer I wa looking for.

Hi Sonny,
Back in the day when I went to school we had tuna with a white sauce & peas in it over shoestring potatoes. I hate peas so I make it with:
can of tuna packed in water-drained
1 can of Campbell's mushroom soup with alittle milk to get it all outta can
1 can shoestring potatoes
Put tuna & mushroom soup in pan & boil then pour this over shoestring potates. Yummy you could add peas & hard boiled eggs but I like it plain.

Tuna or canned chicken hot dish:
1 can tuna packed in water-drained or you can of chicken-drained
1 can Campbell's mushroom soup-with milk about 2 or 3 tablespoons then shake between these 2 cans
1 can Campbell's cream chicken soup
1 can green beans
2 cups boiled cremetes
1 small onion
1 to 2 cups chippies or shoestrings mixed in all ingredients above
cover top with chippies or shoestrings in dish
Bake 350 degrees for 1/2 to 45 mintues
Yummy comfort foods
(of course you can use peas, boiled eggs, or mixed veggies in this recipe or whatever you like)
Have a good day!

Add some turkey gravy and stove top stuffing to the mix. Seriously, it's pretty good. I discovered it one night while drinking too much alcohol, trying to talk to my best friend on my cell phone and my mother on my home phone while trying to help my husband sort out the check book. I was making tuna salad and a turkey casserole. I was also making some chicken salad for my friend. The thing was... the turkey, the tuna, and the chicken were all the canned and cubed variety. So amidst the chaos and the buzz I mixed all the wrong things together and didn't discover it until it started to heat up in the oven.

It's all about the celery and onions, potato chips on top, made with Cream of Celery soup and a little Miracle Whip.
