Cuz you just skim the very ends of the nerves...
Deep cuts go past the nerve endings, which are the most sensitive...
That's why some folks can bleed to death, before they ever feel any pain!
Gross, & kinda scary...but true!
(P.S.---That is also the secret behind acupuncture---why it feels great, rather than painful...the long needles go past the nerve endings, to the "chi" sources...)

You cut yourself on the paper and paper is usually sharp that's why but I don't think a papercut outweighs a gunshot wound

Papercuts don't bleed out as much as the larger cut.

YEAH! and that i became so blown away to appreciate that as quickly as you get a papercut, that's no longer the paper reducing you, it is your pores and skin reacting to the recent texture of properly-straightforward paper, and BAM! Burning sensation. Lol.

So, you want to finally discoved the secret to the paper cut pain do you? the paper cut opens the door to another universe.
zillons of intergaltic pioneers are landing in that cut, cutting down the trees, building cities, going to war, and stuff like that.
that pain you feel is when they have elections, someone stuffs the ballot box to overflowing, but when they have the recounts, it subsides.
peace out dude.
