Isn't imitation the greatest form of flattery? When you say "Ghetto", does that pertain to African Americans? That's the impression I get. Perhaps some caucasians admire the hip hop/rap culture so they dress, speak and behave in manners that supports such a fad. It may seem unnatural but some people like to imitate others they admire. And don't just single out some white people, hispanics have been known to do just the same.
On the same note, it's like asking why must the Japanese try to act so white (they love and adopt western customs)? Have you ever seen a Japanese cowboy? Have you ever seen a black country singer (I have in American Idol)?
Point is just because it isn't the "normal" behavior for the majority, it doesn't make it wrong or pathetic. Are gay and lesbians pathetic? We live in a country where liberalism and the freedom of expression is greatly practiced and embrace. That is what make this country unique. Remember that.

None taken, but I guess you could ask is why some folk act rural or even country and they's nevr been there's. I guess you could ask the question of why do we all act the way we do?
Besides I was not aware that any certain race had a copyright or trademark on any one certain behavior.
So here's this.

It's pathetic when anyone TRIES to act ghetto. A ghetto is a neighborhood. You never hear of anyone trying to act suburban or cul-de-sac-ish.

confident, it rather is insinuating that black human beings act ghetto. even with the undeniable fact that, whilst human beings use words like "appearing black" or "appearing white," you won't be able to pretend you do no longer comprehend what the reference they're making is. advantageous, they're basing that concept off of stereotypes of those cultures, that are each and every now and then unfavourable and each now and then advantageous, yet nonetheless, you recognize what they recommend. it rather is insulting at cases, advantageous. i do no longer purely like the theory that as quickly as somebody says i'm "appearing black," they're announcing i'm conversing ebonics or suggesting i'm partaking in another action perpetuated by ability of the black community, yet I nonetheless understand what they're announcing. All you're able to do is artwork to help the technology which will carry those unfavourable stereotypes linked with black human beings down.

I'm white, and I agree! I helped out in a daycare center sometime ago, that was mostly African American. The kids actually respected the fact that I didn't try to be someone I wasn't, and we all got along great because I was real, let them be them, and they let me be me.
