What do you think about two people of difference races, faiths, or beliefs being in a relationship? Do you think it is justified if they love each other? What would it take to make that relationship work effectively? Would they be able to overcome their differences in order to sustain their relationship?

I have some experience in this department. My fiancee is a Catholic Mexican and I am an Athiest Caucasion. The religion is very easy for us, we each respect the other's opinion and don't try to convert one another. For my part I'm very curious about God and religion, so my fiancee answers my questions without ever pressuring me. As for the race...well it's a little bit harder than I thought, although mostly because we were born and raised in different countries, so a lot of cultural refernces are sometimes lost on each other, but other than that it's just like any relationship I've had with someone of my same race. My fiancee and I have been together for five years now and making it work hasn't been difficult. The only real problem we've had is that sometimes people outside of our relationship aren't always so understanding...mostly our families. His family accepted things pretty easily...mine was a little slower to accept things but they're finally coming around. If you want to be with someone and they want to be with you everything else will fall into place.

It doesn't matter if one person is purple and the other is fuschia, if two people love each other, their differences shouldn't matter. Love is hard enough to find without limiting who it can apply to. Making a relationship like that work is hard though because it involves alot of mutual respect and understanding. Sometimes those relationships are under outside stress form family or peers who don't approve, so it's extra hard. However, many people have been in interracial and interfaith relationships and sometimes differences and hardships are what make those two people even closer.

Love knows no boundaries. Loves knows no time. Love cannot be justified, it's way above it. Can you justify light? Can you justify stars? The same thing with love...

But it takes a lot to make the realtionship between two people from different backgorunds to work. It takes an open mind and ability to let go of all those little voices of your family sounding in your head. It takes a lot of trust and a lot of patience. And... a lot of love.

To answer your question I am in both situations right now. My husband is caucasion and I am asian, I was raised Catholic and my husband doesnt believe in organized religeon. It just brings an interesting challenge to the relationship we have now. He has opened my eyes to a lot of issues where I once was closed minded, he pretty much makes me challenge my views. He is very liberal and one of the best people in my life. He makes me want to do better for myself and to continue to open my eyes to the world around me. Definately one of the best things I have ever done was to marry such a wonderful person.

I honestly am against the race couples. I grew up in a small town and never seen it growing up, so I guess when I see it now it is weird for me. As for the faith and beliefs as long as the couple can get past that it shouldn't matter ar all.

yes, yes and yes. As long as the couple is loving, respectful, and OPEN to each other, then things will work out. You do need to understand that not everything will stay the same for you. You will need to change as does she. It will be a partnership, but it will work out if you want it to.

I went to a beautiful wedding on the beach last weekend. The bride was black and her new husband was Swedish! It was so adorable hearing him recite his vows to her. He truly, truly loved that woman, and his family all came here from Sweden to witness the occasion and celebrate. Love is blind, it has no color barrier. You love who you love.
