One of my best friends, several years ago met a man and married him after like 3 weeks. Was with him as married for a month and she left the jerk and hasn't seen him since. It's been like 10 years ago. This was in Texas. Now she lives in Missouri. Does she need to get an attorney in Texas or can she doe it from the state she now lives in? How do you divorce someone you can't find?

No. she can get an attorney in Missouri. The court will attempt to contact him at his last address. Your friend will have to pay to publish public notices in Texas newspapers in an attempt to contact him and notify him of the action. When he doesn't respond within a certain number of days - the divorce can proceed.

Get a good attorney. Anyone can be found. -- If they still can't, the divorce can go though without his consent.

You can have a lawyer put an add in the paper. If no response, your free.
