I was unable to take prenatal vitamins during my last pregnancy because I would vomit every time I took them. Now that I am pregnant again, I am looking for prenatal vitamins that are suitable for women with sensitive stomachs. I think it was their smell that made me throw up. Do you know any nice prenatal vitamins? Your assistance would really be appreciated!

My OB prescribed Premesis, which is formulated especially for women with nausea.

It has all the absolutely essential vitamins, but it doesn't have that weird smell, and it didn't upset my stomach.

Give it a try.

I read last night about capsule prenatal vitamins. Maybe since they're in the capsule the smell won't be as bad. It's also good to take them with food.

My doctor prescribed my prenatal vitamins and they taste a little chalky but don't have much of a smell. Just keep trying different ones or ask your doctor because you really need the vitamins.

Im using Centrum Materna Vits.I am not pregnant yet but am ttc. They are fine for me so far, I dId have a girl friend that couldnt take them because they made her sick to. Her doc told her to take folic acid only, it is the most important part of the vitamin anyways, if you have a well balanced diet. I would maybe combine folic acid with the flintstone ones if they havent got folic acid in them already. My sister got sick on hers too, and she quit taking them for a couple of days, and then tryed eating a bit before she would take them, and it worked, but she had to take 2 a day one morning and one night, they are suposed to make you less sick, but i think they are a prescription. Good luck

I have been very happy with the Walgreens brand of prenatals. I started taking them when I was thinking of getting pregnant and have been taking them for about two years now (while TTC, pregnant, and now breastfeeding). They have never caused me any nausea, constipation, or any other problems. And they are not too expensive either - especially as Walgreens sometimes runs buy-one-get-one-free deals.

Have you tried Blackmores pregnancy & breastfeeding formula? It's a liquid capsule with no strong odour - or at least i didn't think so. I'm still taking them cause I'm still b'feeeding. It's low dosages, 'cause apparently high doses are not approved by TGA. Try talking to a pharmacist maybe? Did you take them with food? Did you throw up at other times?

There is a brand that has extra B or B12? included to help with the nausia. Sorry, it has been a year since I used them last so I can't remember the name but you may want to ask for a sample from your doctor to try.

I took the generic ones because the pharmacist told me all vitamins are basically the same.
If you keep throwing up on it, maybe you can take folic acid instead.
