doing everything in his power to become a king?

2006-10-20 16:28:49 · 14 answers · asked by Anonymous in Politics & Government Politics

If our Commader & Chief decided that he can't allow "Godless" liberals to gain control of the US Govt. because of the wars & the Republican dominated US military backs him up, who could possibly stop him from becoming: King/Despot/Emperor? Not Congress.

Caesar did it, Napoleon did it, why is it so hard to believe that Bush couldn't do it too? All Caesar & Napoleon had to do to gain absolute power was have control of their militaries, weaken the current Govt., & get 50% support from the population (& Bush has all of that). Now I'm not saying that this will happen in 2008-09 but if Bush wanted to, he could take over with relative ease.

Throughout history there have been a lot of people who really liked dictators, at FIRST, especially if they think they believe in the same things. It's only later that the people learn that the Dictator has taken away their freedoms & the Govt. is running their lives & that is called Communism/Facism which I truly hope nobody wants.

Bush isn't trying to be king, but he has said he has the right to ignore laws passed by Congress, which in my opinion is heading that way. Regardless, I think it's time for him to be deposed.

BTW, the "trying to be king" is not a literal statement.

Kings either have all the authority of government, or none at all (ceremonial like in England)! Bush does not make law, congress does. Bush merely guides the development of bills, and signs them into law or not when they reach his desk.

President Bush does not have the authority to dissolve congress. Nor does the consitution grant him that power. Given these facts, Bush can never become a dictator or a king, and I have seen no evidence that he has attempted to take such a role!

As for the military backing him - the Military serves the people of this country. Bush may be Commander in Chief, but still there are some things the military will not do for him! To suggest he could use the military to undermine the constitution is an unlikely scare tactic by the Left - trust me it's not going to happen!

How so?
He's not getting reelected. We'll have a new president elected in 2008, and inaugurated in 2009.
Sorry, kings aren't elected, and they don't usually get bumped out when the next guy is elected.

,It drives me nuts to hear people say "he works so hard, people should respect him" Fact is he has a policy and ideology in direct conflict with at least half of all Americans. He goes out of his way to trash the Constitution and other historical documents that were created to guide future leaders...in other words he breaks tradition and precedent...quite unlike any before him.

You should really back up your accusations with proof. By not doing so, you appear just as uneducated as this question. Speaking of which, no, in reality it is not ironic. If the later part of your question were true, it would be considered so, but alas, it is a fallacy. If you happen to come across validation for your slander, by all means, share with the rest of us.

Sounds like another Democrap sound bite, which makes little sense & is backed up with nothing. Just like the Deomocrat party.

Bush and Cheney will indefinitly postpone the 08 election after some sort of security threat.

Cheney will move into a tower called Haliburton and wear a black outfit and Bush will rule his empire using his electric shocks.

Ah... I love these questions.

Its all just in his delusional fantasy world. He doesn't realize his term of office is thankfully up in January, 2009. He thinks that God wants him to be king, but the only place he might ever wind up as king will be if the Iraqi people were to ask him to come over and rule them. After all, they love him so much over there for bringing peace and stability to their country.

You know what amazes me, how people can criticize the leader of our country without knowing how hard of a job he really has. If you dont like Bush then fine but do you really think you could do a better job?

I don't think Bush wants to be king. What is your proof of this?
