"About how far along do u have to be to get a ultra sound and determine what the sex of the baby is?"

My doctor does an ultrasound between 18-22 weeks. I have heard you can find out as early as 16 weeks though. I am having mine next week to find out the sex and I will be 20 weeks.

I wanted to have mine at 18 weeks but my Dr said that they really like to check the baby at 20-22 weeks. That way they can check for developmental things too. Certain things can't always be seen early. I have heard of them being able to tell early but it was usually done early because of a problem. I'm debating on my next to be surprised... I kind of like the idea of not knowing.

20-22 weeks is the best time to get a good look at the sex of the baby. Baby is big enough to tell between boy & girl but small enough to get a good view.

i'm having a ultra sound done at 15 weeks and my dr said if the babies cooperate we should be able to tell the sex

they can tell at 16 weeks but most dr's will not check until 20 weeks because they say its more accurate then. plus most insurance companys wont allow but one or 2 scans and the 20 week one is the most important to check for birth defects and other things

I found out my twins were girls at 14 weeks. But with my son at 14 they could not tell and I didnt find out until I had another ultrasound at 30 weeks.
