You have the right to walk away or change the channel or even stick your fingers in your ears. You do not have the right to stop another from using thier right to free speech.

Yes but everyone also has freedom of speech. So if you don't want to hear things you disagree with, then you'd better get some earplugs and where them 24-7. That right there though is a recipe for stagnancy - you will never learn to improve yourself and grow, or even learn in general if you don't hear things that you might disagree with.

Of course you have the right to get up and walk out of a room, hang up the phone, go to another web page...etc....
But why not just take it all in? Have an open mind to at least understand why others feel the way they do about something different. You don't have to agree with it, but do not be a close-minded person either.
Knowledge and education are key.

you have got to hear about things first before you have to decide if you disagree.

I agree with the above posters. Put on some earplugs and a blindfold if you are so close-minded that you can't handle anything that disputes your narrowminded beliefs.

Not unless you can hibernate away from everyone else....TV and computers, and radio, and family, friends, co-workers.....whew! Getting away from all of us is almost more trouble than it's worth! And, come on, be honest....wouldn't you really miss us? (;p)

Hoping the best for you...
