Please don't feel bad -- it's HIS problem, not yours. I'm sorry he's so critical of you; I know the feeling. It's very bad for one's self-esteem for a parent to say such things to / about their children, especially if he says it right in front of you.

Since I don't know you're age, I'm just kind of going on a hunch -- it seems that you are changing (from a girl, to a young woman). That can be a "challenge" to your father, since your identity is changing, with the physical changes. You're no longer "his little girl". So, he tries to belittle you, to keep you emotionally under his control.

Without seeing a picture of you, I can tell you -- You ALREADY are a "pretty girl". Lose a few pounds if YOU want to, or if it's important for your health. Hormones may have a role in it, and things do "even out" as you get a little older. Please try to find a woman relative, or perhaps a neighbor, who will give you the self-confidence boost you need. Hang in there!

You should feel always feel good about yourself, never let anyone
put you down. You do what is best for you and dress in your own
style. I assume you are a teenager and at this time you are trying
different styles. If he is so worry about your appearance then why
doesn't he and you have a long talk to see what is really bothering
him. You are old enough to take care of yourself (appearance wise). As for your weight you sure don't want to be hell of skinny
either. And that's so wrong for him to say that. If he would of said to you and only you, that he's only thinking of your health. Then that is a different story. Don't take this the wrong way, just take
care of yourself for health wise and for you self, not for anyone else. You come first. Look in the mirror and make yourself see
the beauty not what your dad See's.

It means that he loves you too much. You might think that he is involving in your life too much, but no he wants to see you at the top. Imagine if you have a plant that has beautiful flowers, you'll keep working on that so that it looks more & more beautiful. You show it to others & want to hear good results about it. So dear, don't worry about it. Think about those who don't have anyone who cares about them so much. You are a lucky one, so don't feel bad about it, because when the time changes, no one know what happens next.

TELL HIM! The easiest way is to write a note to him. Tell him how you feel. Tell him it really hurts your feelings.

Often parents see themselves in their child and it's more about him hating himself. It's his own self-deprication.

Tell a teacher how he's treating you. This, believe it or not, falls into child abuse.
