What rock you been living under the past yrs?? LOL
One of the most famous free image viewer for yrs has been irfanview is free and it even has extra add ons to watch movies music and a lot more check it out i been using it for at least 6yrs or so.

Don't use Paint for anything other than a bitmap image. The colors paint offers are not as high as an image editor. You will not get photo-quailty images from paint. =o)
