No not at all.... Itas just a ploy to find a way to raise more money that has no definite designation once its erned. Where will it go.. We in california were once told when the lottery first came about that about 30% of the monies earned from the sale of lottery tickets would go to schools.. We have the worst schools in the country!!!!!! Its very sad that we allow ourselves to continue to be treated like we don't matter... Without us there would be no reason for taxes, laws, politicians or any other things of that sort. So why do we continue to allow dishonesty from the people we elect and the laws and propositions we pass... No on new oil tax....

We need to invest in alternative energy sources. Since the Oil companies have gouged us for years, why not make them pay 4 billion to help us tax paying, gas buying Californians back? And yes, the new law states that they cannot pass the cost on to us. Oil companies pay these fees in other states, where their gas prices are cheaper than ours. Go figure. Yes on 87!!!!!

The supporters of Prop 87 are dreaming. they are pie in the sky saying that it would support alternative fuels. What will happen, if passed, and until its declared Unconstitutional ( you cant tell a business they cant pass cost on to the consumer), all the oil companies have to do is close the oil valve. Less oil in Calif, means higher prices cause you have to pay OPEC their price per barrel. It would be like charging Ford or GMC a tax on their vehicles, they can pass that along to the person who buys their product, why cant an oil company???

Besides, oil companies don't set the price per barrel for oil. that is set by speculators and OPEC who controls how much oil they produce and sell.

California has lots of oil off shore and if you look at the record in the Gulf of Mexico, It can be done safely, and without pollution. Just go about 50 miles off shore and let them drill for oil. Will keep the gas prices down where we can afford it.

No.

Of course, I am voting no on everything on the CA ballot.
I am tired of all the initiatives and referendums. What happened to all the bond money that I voted for last year...and the year before that?
Plus, it seems that most initiatives that passed are challenged in court and found unconstitutional. So...why bother?
