Black and red are a vivid contrast moreso than black and blue. I think the match should be chosen according to the event that you are wearing these colors to. Black and red make a BOLD statement, whereas black and blue make a conservative statement.

They say that black matches with everything, but I don't think so. I think if your wearing black pants, then a pretty color red would go with it, but it also depends on if there's anything else on the red shirt, like brown in it. I also think that blue would go with it too, but it depends on what color blue. Like for example, you wouldn't wear black pants with a dark blue shirt. I think a pretty light color blue, like the baby blue, or the more teal blue. The teal blue I think is more for like the fall color people are wearing today. would go perfect. I say red is more for the real dressy side and blue for more casual.

but I also enjoy the black and red combination a lot.

go with the color of your eyes...if your eyes are blue then wear a blue color to match...if your eyes are any other color then wear red.
