Anything by Chopin is fairly good and I think Bach and Beethoven are very good. Pretty much the easiest way to find out what type of classical music you like is to listen to it, most likely on the radio, as it's free. However, if it's classical music found in movies, then there are plenty of choices, as well. I would recommend Danny Elfman, who composed the scores for The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands... pretty much most, if not all, Tim Burton movies. Also, the composer for Lord of The Rings is pretty good; Howard Shore, I believe. Lastly, the guys who composed the scores for both Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I hope this helps.

I think it is best to just get a bunch of music from each period and listen and see what appeals to you. Here's some composers you might start off with for just a sampler:

Baroque period: Bach
Classical period: Mozart or Haydn
Early Romantic: Beethoven or Wagner
Late Romantic: Tchaikovsky or Dvorjak
20th Century: Stravinsky or Shostakovic

I know that it is intimidating to see how much music there is out there, but the best way to see what you like is just to dive in and listen to it. If you like a certain composer, try listening to different pieces by that composer, or different composers from the same period. You can discover a lot that way.

I like Mozart, Beethovan, Bach, Chopin, Strauss, Brahams, Tchaikovsky, they are all very relaxing music.

There was 2 Strauss' tho, Strauss Sr. 1804-1849
Strauss Jr. 1825-1899
Both of their music is awesome

Tchaikovsky did Nutcracker and Swan Lake
Mozarts Piano Concerto #20 or Symphony #41
Bach did Ava Maria and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
Beethovan did Ode to Joy
Brahms- I have a whole cassette of his Hungarian Dances # 1-21
Strauss -Music from Vienna III
Chopin All of his

But all of their music is beautiful.
I have music of all of these people.

i do no longer image Paris Hilton as listening to classical music and the Hilton kin is previous money. i do no longer stay in a important metropolitan section, yet this mid-sized city has the two a symphony orchestra and an opera society. there is not any previous money or any of the previous families in touch in the two of them. rather they are run via what you will possibly evaluate "favourite individuals." some human beings I worked at a production unit with are in touch working the two one among them. i do no longer understand what the wealthy human beings on the city do for entertainment. We truthfully have them. yet I attend the symphony and opera in many circumstances and characteristic never encountered any. rather they are attended via generally middle-type people who love the music (it incredibly is the biggest team), some spouses/dates that have needless to say been dragged there, and people who got here for a threat to dress up and do something diverse. possibly, if the "nepotists of extreme internet well worth" actual enjoyed classical music that they had attend the two the symphony or the opera on occasion.

i like the russian composers, rimsky-korsakov...powerful and fanciful music, especially scherazadhe (cant spell that).
then, my fave, bach. he is the immortal god of harmony, he is chamber music.
vivaldi, the red priest, he was a priest and conducted an all girl orchestra, they were orphans, he has lively sprightly music...the four seasons, my fave is winter.
geeze, there are so many.
cant go wrong with beethoven,
brahms, debussy - la mer and dvorak - new world symphony.

I would also recommend Vivaldi string music -- you will recognize it because it is used for many weddings. Many people find it very soothing.
