"Rude" is a subjective, not an objective interpretation. For example, usually if someone "gives me the finger" it is intended as a rude gesture. But if my wife does so it is usually meant playfully.

People interpret something as rude based on the tone of voice and posture of the speaker as well as the words.

BTW, have you ever seen those HSBC adverts at airports which show various gestures and facial postures as being rude in one culture, seductive in another, and meaningless in a third? Rude is conveyed anywhere relative to a cultural norm, or a deviant norm in a subculture.

OK - I'll bite and ask you. Do you think it's true? fwiw - those who say something is rude - from their point of view it is probably a true statement.
