My friend and I were talking the other day and her ear got beat red and it was hot. Mine does that everyonce in awhile too. We both wondered what caused that. I thought maybe someone on here might know. Its not a big deal. Its just kinda weird that we never asked anyonje why that happens. Its not the weather either. We had been inside for awhile.

If you've gotten your ears pierced recently, it may be infected. If not, you guys may have gotten a bug bite. I get that, and it gets itchy. I scratch it, and it becomes red. If it's neither one of these, don't think it's anything drastic.

Hormone rush.
Wait til you reach menopause age. Not only do your ears get red and feel hot,so does the rest of your body.
Hormone replacment therapy (HRT) when you reach menopause is an option but not to girls just now reaching the age where hormones are jsut now coming into play in their lives.
Hormones can be affected in women of all ages depending on their diets and stress factor.

To vent off the heat. It's like a mini-AC in your body. Like the jackrabbit and the adaptation it has to cool itself in the hot desert environment with the help of its big ears. Hope this helps!

I have a student who is very fair skinned and every time I call on him his ears get very red. He is shy but loves to joke and laugh so it must be a stronger blood flow during emotional reactions.

it happens to mine too, i agree, it is like a mini ac for our body, but it could also mean infection from any earrings, not just if you had them pierced recently, but i asked my doctor about it, and he said unless they hurt, don't worry about it....
