He needs to go to the court house and file, talk to the judge and he can get a reduction...He can also file if she is not letting him see the kids and there is a visitation order in place a contempt of court...He doesn't need a lawyer, the paper is simple enough to understand and there are people there to help....

In New York, child support for two kids is around 24% of the pay. I believe other states are also around that percentage. He can go to family court and ask for a modification of his child support.
You have to know that paying child support does not guarantee the right to have visitation with the children. Unless he is detrimental to the safety and well-being of the children, he should be allowed to see them. He should get a lawyer to help him get the visits started. Good luck!

he has to put up a motion for child support reduction and visitation rigths at the same time.. once he has that court date he has to have proof of what he is making now...the judge will hear his case and make his desision base on that new information,if his paying child support and he ask for visitations he will get them and there is nothing the mother could do to stop that...if she refused to let him have the children the court would force her to give the kids to him for visitations.. tell your son to do this there is no way in hell this can go wrong.. he has rights and they will give them to him but he has to take sometime to go trough the court steps,I hope everything would work for him... good luck.

He need to go to the court in his state and ask for a court ordered reduction, due to the change in his income. He also need to make sure visitation is on the records, because if he tries to see the kids and she deny him, she would be in contempt of court, but visitation must be on file. If for some reason, they did not arrange visitation while setting up support payments, he need to have the court establish visitation rights.

He needs to either get the attorney that represented him during his divorce, or get a new one. If he was given visitation rights in the divorce settlement, and he has paid his child support, then I don't understand what's keeping him from seeing his kids. An attorney might be able to get the child support lowered if he isn't making as much.
