y= 3/4 x + 2 is a linear equation in one variable so its graph will be a straight line.
put x=0, you get y=3/4(0)+2
y= 0+2=2
put x=4, y=3/4 * 4 +2
y= 3+2=5
put x= 8 , y= 3/4 *8+2
y=6+2=8
so three points are (0,2), (4,5),(8,8) plot these points on co-ordinate axes and join them to get graph of given equation.

looking at the function given u can say that the slope is 3/4 and the y intercept is 2. this comes from the standard form of an equation of a line which is y = mx + b

to graph it, u can substitute values fot the x then find the corresponding y value. to start u need to have an idea of the positive and negative x values. try -3 < or = x < or = 3. this means using values from -3 to 3 for x. ( -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3)

now each x will have a y. this is what u need to plot on graph paper. (x, y)

be sure to connect the points. it should be a straight line. if all points do not line up exactly u might need to draw a line of best fit. here u should have a straight line with an equal number of points on either side of the line. these are the points that did not make it exactly on the line of best fit.

The easiest way to plot this equation is to use x as factors of 4.
example if x=0 then y=3/4 (0)+2 so y=2
so your coordinates are (0,2)
If x=4 then y=3/4(4)+2, then y=5 coordinates are (4,5)
then also do it in the negative
If x=-4 then y=3/4(-4)+2, then y=-1 coordinates are (-4,-1)
Once you get several coordinates then you can map them on the graph

Just start plugging in numbers for your x-value if x= 1 then
y=2 3/4, so start at your x axis, at 1 becasue thats what you chose, and follow it up along the y axis to the output 2 3/4 and make your dot, keep plugging in the numbers for your x value 2, 3, -12, etc. whatever you want, and youll notice a trend (try plugging in some negatives too) this equation is also a function just to let you know.

It's a straight line on the graph. this straight line passes through the 2 on the y-axis. The gradient,3/4, is positive and it pass through 8/3 on the x-axis.

well, if you have a calculator you can always push the "y=" button and then type in the problem: .75x+2. Then push the button graph and it will set it up on a graph for you. Or, you can push 2nd graph and it will set up the coordinates for you. Hope i can help this is what we are doing in Geometry right now. Peace Out

if x=4 y=5
if x=0 y=2
now plot these points on a graph n join. if you need more im me

start @ point (0,2) because two is b which is the y-int. then do rise/run(slope) which is 3/4. so you rise 3 and you run 4 aka you go up 3 and right 4.
