If you wish to establish, quietly, a Police State, first prey on your people's insecurity to enable you to introduce progressively more restrictive laws, for their own "good" of course. Having gained consent, restrict freedoms in small measures. Finally declare that all freedoms are curtailed except those approved by your legislature. I think we're about threequarters of the way there.

Yes. Slowly, but surely. You have to be careful with language like this though, as compared to the rest of the world we're still much more free, and the Chinese/Russian/etc would think it strange that we complained about the level of policing in the UK. The concern comes when you look at the trend, which suggests that we are becoming less free all the time.

I can't believe we almost past a law that meant people could be locked up for 3 months without evidence! And a sun columnist referred to the “hated human rights act” last month, in all seriousness. How can you put the word ‘hated’ next to the word ‘human rights’? The mind boggles. I guess they just lie safe in the knowledge that it won’t be them who’s kidnapped at 3am and taken to a cell for 3 months, so it’s okay.

i dont believe we have a police state what i believe is that we have a police force that, instead of trying to provide a public service, is forced to try and generate revenue for the government.
instead arresting the yobs that now rule the housing estates through commiting crimes against person and property, the police are out every day trying to catch motorists for speeding and such likes. and if they do respond to your call becausesome yobs are causing havoc and destruction or have threatend you in some way, all the police do is stand have a chat with them have a few laughs and get into their patrol car and go. if your car gets broken into you are lucky if a police officer even bothers to come out, they are to busy in the town centers arrsting those who are out enjoying themselves and have gotten a little too drunk, why ? so they can be taken to court and fined for being drunk and disorderly.
i recently got a little peeved off with the fact that drug dealers are using an alleyway by my house to do their deals so informed the police, i have 2 young daughters who dont need to see that sort of thing. have the police donr anything about it ? NO.
are we living in a police state ? i think only if you drive a car or enjoy a drink with a few mates down the pub and make a little bit too much noise on your way home.
i think that even in a fake democracy the people should get what they want once in a while even if its only to continue the illusion that the people are in charge, what do people want? a police force that acts when someone calls to report a crime, but does so to make the streets safe for the general public, what we dont want is a police force that is there to generate revenue, maybe i am the only one who see's things that way but eh what can i say

no it is not becoming a police state. just see the number of advantages you get. it is purely a welfare state and it is doing very well. if there is a situation where internal law and machinery is broken down and then power is centralized then in that case it is correct to say that it is turning to be a police state.

it somewhat is to guard those rights and freedoms that has necessitated an excellent form of the regulations and regulations you sense are infringing on your privateness and so on.How can democracy as such look after you from robbers, killers, vandals, terrorists and so on. in ordinary terms the police and protection forces can. they could in ordinary terms do plenty in the event that they're compelled to act with one arm tied at the back of their back. You get on your intense horse protesting approximately particular regulations or seek or detainment ideas yet how could you shelter your self against those threats.you need to no longer ought to you.you like somebody to do it for you. So enable them to get on with their job.it somewhat is you they're attempting to guard. What rights and freedom have you ever easily been disadvantaged of.None that easily count number. try to be arranged to assist the government in those concerns.i for my section can not understand your thinking. could you abolish all regulations, have not have been given any police no administration over what is going on In a count number of months the full society could have declined right into a lawless jungle.is that this what you choose?

Of course it is.The basic framework for a democracy allows the questioning of ones government in relation to everything, and an accountability to the people that put them in power regardless of social, religious and any other factors pertaining to them.In today's current scenario we see a government that is not only allowing but condoning the active use of deadly force to achieve their goals. Which is not the betterment of the country but rather the betterment of their and their financial backers social situations. In simple words making themselves and their rich friends richer. When you are willing to ostracize and entire segment of your population, for the wrongs a few, then that shows that you are losing the basis of democracy and it shows that you would be willing to stoop to any level for your own benefit. Even the formation of a police state.
