Disney used to have a TV show on Sunday early evenings or late afternoons. I remember this from the70's. It was a live action movie about a boy who saw a girl ghost about his age. She started asking him for help. She had a french accent. Turns out in the end that she died by falling down a well on the property that the boy lived on. I think either her father or uncle was mean and was chasing her when she fell. The ghost was missing a doll of hers and the boy had to find it. That was the big mystery. Turned out that she had the doll when she fell down the well. They recovered her body a hundreds years before, but left her doll down the well. So the boy got the doll from the well and I think he put it at her grave and then she stopped bugging him. Does anybody know the name of this movie and know if it's available on DVD? I know it sounds pretty twisted for something from Disney.

It is called Child of Glass and was released in 1978.
The plot outline is: Alexander Armsworth and his family move to an authentic antibellum mansion, which once was owned by a river pirate. Alexander is drawn into a century-old mystery when he sees the ghost of a little girl, and she asks for his help in finding the "child of glass" by reciting a riddle. He has only a day or two to solve the riddle, or be haunted for the rest of his life!

Good luck getting anything like this out of DisneyCorp. now. In response to an email to their DVD release division for the projected DVD release of "Dr. , Alias the Scarecrow". I was told pretty tersely they had no plans to release many of the older made for TV movies. I guess they figured the "Dexter Riley" movies were as risque as they want to get.

Im sorry I cant help you with the title to the movie, but now it's going to torture ME too. I seem to remember this movie, but only the details you brought up. Also I wonder if they'll ever release those "kid detective" movies (I think they did like 3 of em, and an incredibly gorgeous Jaclyn Smith was a bad guy in one of em... ) That one kid, his best friend and his sister I think kept getting into these scrapes, a la Scooby Doo. One was even set in a carnival.

Anyway good luck finding out.

YIKES I just followed the link above my answer. $65.00?? WOw.

I think I might have seen that movie! Could you please tell me if the ghost girl carried around a small white dog with her? Please tell me if you remember that part. If so then you are talking about the same movie I have been trying to find out the name of for years!!! I also remember a part at the end where the little ghost girl and her ghost white dog return to their grave. I always thought that was sooo sad because the dog looked like my maltese and I didn't like thinking about him dying.Hope your question gets answered. I am dying to see that movie again too.
