My aunt knitted my two sisters and I matching ponchos (they were not cool then) out of this ugly brown and orange yarn and she also sewed us matching pairs of red corduroy bellbottoms (they weren't cool then either). My mother made us all wear these matching outfits on our first day back to school after vacation. I am still traumatized.

A quarter and a Baby Ruth candy bar. I'm a 62 year old man and we had a relative who gave us this every Christmas. I would have much more appreciated a card than this. She was not poor but chose to do this every year for the three of us kids. We always had to make something to give her. I think what I felt at the time more than anything else was the fact that she put no thought into it at all. At the time we could buy a Baby Ruth for five cents.

Back when I was a teenager & had beautiful skin & never wore make-up, I got a $50 make-up palatte from my aunt, who 2 months earlier told how lucky I was that I didn't have to wear make-up.

My husband bought me a leaf blower. Just in case I wanted to "blow" something. This is not a joke. That was the single worst gift I have ever received.
