That's one sick dude...he barely knew the woman, only at work. What 2 people do in privacy consensually is none of anybody's business, but this is a boss/co-worker doing that to to an acquaintance. If we were talking about a Liberal or Democrat or even a moderate commentator, the Conservatives would be outraged. I could understand not addressing it (what I'd probably do regarding someone of my party) but to defend him like I see some doing on this question is the height of hypocrisy.
