Extremely bad, call the doctor immediately. She'll have to go to the hospital because if the water breaks this early there is a chance of infection and she will have to be continuously monitored.

If indeed her water has broken she needs to be in the hospital. In some cases they can replace the fluid. In others they need to be on permanent bed rest. At 5 months there isn't much they can do for the baby if it's born now. The main thing is to keep that baby in until at least 24 weeks. I pray all goes well.

Yes that could be a problem, because if the amniotic sac is leaking, infection could also be introduced inside to the baby. Secondly, losing amniotic fluid can decrease the amount around the baby, causing crowding which can deform the baby's features (called "Potter's facies"). I would also think that leaking amniotic fluid might cause your aunt to go into labor, and her baby would have a grim chance of survival at 5 months. She should tell her doctor immediately.

It is not good, If she has not yet seen a doc, GO NOW ~ ER. Otherwise, my water leeked @ 3 months. I was lucky however a ultrsound showed it to be a top pin hole leek. So months of bed rest & it fused itself. I was also on many antibiotics. I will tell you the same the thing my specialist told me, Prayer is the only thing he could recomend. It helped I carried my son to 37 weeks & delivered a healthy 5.5 lb. baby boy.

yes. That is very serious. She should be in the hospital receiving care there. Does it mean that she will lose the baby? It's a possibility, but the things medicine is capable of would amaze you. Does it mean that she will NOT lose the baby? No, it does not. Medicine is both a science and an art, and doctors are not God. Pray for your aunt and her baby. She is probably very scared.

Yes it could be that she is leaking water but she could also be leaking urine! Happens quite frequently. My sis had that issue with my niece and they sent her home with little litmus strips to touch to the fluid to see if it was amniotic fluid or not. I hope she isnt leaking fluid. 5 months is too early for a baby to real survive. That is sad

yes, that's probably amniotic fluid in which the baby needs to survive, she needs to go to a doctor ASAP and they will put her on bed rest.
