Hello!!! he is an oil man. Has been and always will be. He is more oil man than president everything comes down to promoting the use of oil and it's price. What's hard to understand. Remember the secret energy strategy meeting, in 2000, the one that the proceedings are still secret.

Who is in the White House? Slick Dick Cheney and George Bush. Now who are Cheney and Bush? THEIR OIL GUYS!!! Cheney who has investments in Haliburton (who received a multi-million dollar no-bid contract for Iraq, Cheney has made over 8 million in profits from this) and Bush has investments in oil and was once the head of Arbusto oil.

They are making a killing by taking Iraqi oil. Plus if you have alternative energy then that means less dependence on oil. Well that means less cash for Slick Dick and Dubya.

First I want to qualify my answer by saying - I have worked under the bush, clinton and daddy bush admnistration- and have no respect for any of them. They are all considered to be cowards by the middle east..

The reason why Bush took the war to Iraq was because actions against the USA were escalating and because the Arab world believes we are cowards and will do nothing. Between Hezbollah, Taliban and Al Queda - they attacked us at the us marine barricks..in saudi, - Regan and Weinberger did NOTHNING, Daddy Bush goes to Kuwait runs Sadam out ...but does not kill him....(what a wimp) Clinton gets into ofice, we are attacked several times he does nothing and ...better yet...when Milosevic is attacking Muslims in Bosnia (and by the way the muslims Milsovevic was attacking was Osama Bin Ladin) and Clinton bombed Milsevic and called him the agressor ....then the world trade center was bombed...and finally 911.....
Bush took the war to Iraq..otherwise they would have attacked us here...and gone after Houston - i oil meca of the united states....

No, it is because he is invested in oil, cause turmoil in the middle east and the price of oil goes up. Do you remember $3 a gallon. Come to think of it he is an evil person.

First off-- its not an "oil war". If it were an oil grab, the price of oil wouldn't have spiked to $70.00 a barrel and I wouldn't have spent so damn much filling my gas tank. Because the middle east is so full of oil, however, we have a National Interest in stable governments there that don't funnel billions of our dollars to people who want to see us All Dead. Like all Presidents before him, Pres. Bush is defending our national interests as he sees them.

(Remember-- we went to war with Saddam15 years ago, and he lost-- then he continued trying to bully and threaten his neighbors and shoot at US airplanes until we had enough. And YOUR congressman voted for the war as well.)

Investment in alternative energies is happening all over. Near my home in Oklahoma a huge windmill farm is being developed to harvest that prairie wind for electricity, and near my current home electricity comes from the nuclear power plant up the road.
Other alternative energy sources will not be popular until and unless they become cheap to produce, reliable, and perform as well as petroleum products do now.

We can make hydrogen cars today. They cost a million dollars a piece, and they can only go 40 mph. You want one??

The best question of the night.

alternative energies is the way to go. We can cut out our dependence on foreign oil, and save our money for a better future for our kids.

We should NEVER again fight a war for oil.

.. the middle east is fueling the military-industrial complex which would not be profiting from going to alternate energies... oil fuels the military side of the equation and without it your military ceases to function...and many are making money with defense contracts within the administration ... also, iraq is a "show" to the world that this is what is going to happen to you if you dont bow down to our will ..

What is it with you people and thinking that the War in Iraq is just about oil. We've brought democracy and freedom to millions of people in both Iraq and Afganistan. Besides if all we really wanted was oil we would have never pulled out of Iraq and Kuwait after the first Gulf War.

No its because he makes more money from oil than he does from alternative energies. He gets money when you buy oil. Hes only thinking about his future. If you were in his place, wouldn't u wanna be even richer and kill everyone u can to do so?
