You can actually buy them at any optical shop without prescriptions needed.

I can't believe some of these responses.

Most Optometrists carry colored lenses. They're made by the same companies that make regular contacts, so there's no danger of them injuring your eyes. And yes, they make non-prescription lenses. I know many people who have bought them without having to get an eye exam.

If you've never worn contacts then the doctor will probably want to walk you through the basics of using them though, to make sure you don't injure yourself putting them in. Learning how to put them in and take them out usually takes less than a half-hour.

Most optometrists don't carry them in the store, so if this is for Halloween you'll need to start shopping as soon as possible so that they can be ordered in time.

I've seen them very reasonably priced, and with a wide variety, at the Optic Center at Wal-Mart and other national chains.

you can't really buy them without prescription and they do cost alot. Even though they do sell the contacts that turn your eyes red for halloween. the only thing i can really recomen is to go with your eye doctor and talk to him about it and tell them why you want them and if you can get any type of discount.
