Because Republicans always use the Christian right to get votes, but in reality they don't really care for those Jesus freaks!

I found an interesting situation a few months ago. There was a news story on CNN headline news which had full coverage of the entire press speech the President Bush gave and a lot of it was pretty negative. Then I listened to Christian radio later that day which did a shortened version of the speech. You guessed it, the negative parts were removed by the editors. So the people that listen to Christian News are given only the positives of the President so no wonder they support the President!!
So I don't believe that President Bush is in the pocket of the Christians, I believe very much it's the other way around.

I think that the current administration just cozied up to the Christian right wingers in order to get their vote. Essentially, they were used. What do I think of it? I think that both Democrats and Republicans will do anything to get a vote. There is no level that low that a politician will not go there. I'm a Democrat, by the way. And I never want to see any religious doctrine legislated.
