No. I do enjoy a conversation with a person who can get the point across w/o making other people feel uneducated. The one in the crowd who does the big word game may know the meaning but really becomes a true bore to those of us who can and choose not to in order to allow others to join in on the conversation.
Really this comes under the pet peeve category for me. To belittle someone who's education didn't provide the opportunity to learn to express themselves lavishly w/large vocabularies may have the most to say.

Verbose language is a wonderful thing, however, those people that exist that are ignorant to the full understanding of such rhetoric may feel intimidated by such educated and linguistic people. I believe "three dollar words" should be left to public speaking in formal addresses. Even doctors have to "dumb it down" for their patients and are taught to relay information to their patients on a sixth grade level, because that's about the national average when it comes to language abilities.
Don't get me wrong, I like intellectuals who know their way around the english language, it impresses me, but to most people, they may say "I think thou protests too much".
