My WBC is 14.7 (normal 5-10). Pain in my belly, mostly on the right side down lower by my ovary. Worked up for an appendicitis. CAT scan couldn't even find my appendix. Ultrasound either. Ultrasound tech told me my ovary had a HUGE follicle a sign of a ruptured cyst. But not sure if that explains my high WBC

YES I KNOW High WBC indicates infection. BUt would the fluid from inside a cyst that is now roaming around in my belly cause my WBC to be high because my body is fighting foreign debris?

An elevated white blood cell count is more often due to infection which in your sisters case sounds more plausible than cancer. A ruptured cyst can become infected or cause infection in the abdomen leading to an elevated WBC count.
