Yesterday, my right under arm was extremely sore and then my left one later. It hurt so much I could barely lift up my arms all the way, but they didn't hurt as much today. My sister told me it was swollen lymph nodes and that it was probably a cold. It's the only thing I think that it could really be since I have a bit of a stuffy nose, but I've had this stuffy nose for the past couple of months. But maybe it's just now flaring up into a cold, I'm not sure. My mom thought I may have layed wierd while working on my art project, but I really don't think so. So could it just be a cold, or something else?

It could be any kind of virus or bacteria, a cold or sinus infection, sinus drainage, lots of stuff.

I have lymph node problems every winter because I catch colds easily and my allergies flare up. Massage the lymphatic system gently and it usually will help the knots work themselves out.

I had what seemed to be swollen lymph node under right arm. I had a surgeon check it out, she said it was an inflammation of the tissue (or was it muscle) due to overexertion, stress, lack of sleep and illness. She suggested I use a heating pad from my neck down and take ibuprofen for the pain. It got so it was painful to wear a bra. I'm going to keep an eye on it to see if it gets larger. I would consult a physician.

Because it might be your lymph nodes and you have had a stuffy nose for a few months you need to see a doctor.
Luekemia is a possibility and should be ruled out.
Good luck.

I myself have never heard of the glands under your arms being affected by a cold

The glands under your arm are part of your breast glands, which you should check under your arms as well as you breast when you check yourself each month. I get sore lymph nodes under my my arms during (pre, post) my period I can hardly put my arms down and the nodes are the size of golf balls. Weather it be a cold or not I'd have it checked out

In general most people don't get swollen lymphnodes with just a cold. Swollen lympnodes is not good...need to get it checked right away.
