I just bought a car with a twin turbo engine. Is it true I need to let the engine run for awhile in park to let the turbos cool down. i heard it could ruin over time if this is not done?

Definitely, if you have just been driving on the freeway. If you dont let it idle for a couple minutes afterward, it will cook the oil in the bearings and lead to early failure. You can buy a "turbo timer" that does it for you, you can take your key and lock it up and the car will shut off on its own automatically after a few minutes.

I heard the same, but maybe you could contact the dealer of the car make and ask for the service department and ask them..they WILL know...
and maybe you should check into an oil called Royal Purple..
and change your oil to Royal Purple....you will thank me and yourself for doing this...
and do NOT rev it up just before turning it off, because you WILL spool up the turbo faster, then it will not have the cooling oil to cool it off as it is still spinning fast..

good luck
