Since they have been on for all those years and tackled just about every topic and it seems like every episode makes no sense. It makes me think that the writers are out of ideas. And they have been renewed for 2 more seasons. I'm not bashing The Simpsons because they are my favorite show.

I love the Simpsons, or at least i used to. I own every season released (1-8 i think). But you are right. They have just gone sour. All of their recent episodes lack the zest of the old Simpson family. Homer rarely says Do'h, nad never strangles Bart. I believe they ran out of ideas around 2 years ago. I am sorry to say it, but the Simpsons should just cancel while some people still like them. But, nevertheless, i cant wait until Nov. 5th, when the new Treehouse of Horror comes out.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, however you see it), everyone runs out of good ideas. Shows that were fantastic in the beginning run stale after the first several seasons. M*A*S*H* went stale after Frank left, Simpsons went stale after the first.................10 seasons or so. X-Files sucked after David Duchovny left (Mulder). It happens. Unfortunately the simpsons is still a big money-maker for Fox and they want to keep it on the air for as long as possible.

The Simpsons is the longest running sitcom and longest running cartoon to date and has had a large influence on culture thorughout the years. I think they still have alot of life in them. I look forward to the new episodes and watch them in syndication every day.

After you have tackled every topic, what more is there? I used to like the Simpsons...but I am tired of them.

I enjoyed the Simpsons for a couple of years when I was in my early teens. After that, either the show got drastically worse or my taste changed.

The show isn't funny anymore. I really don't think they should be releasing a film next year, unless it's going to tie into a series finale. The show, which was once hilarious, has long since lost it's flavour.

Mine too, not only that but they changed how the characters look, for worse if you ask me, i loved the first seasons, skipping the very first ones. Homer just isn't funny anymore, and it makes very little sense.
