Horror: The Anne Rice Vampire Series. Best title didn't live up to expectations: Easy Travel to Other Planets. Poetry: A Crown of Thorns (all by mental patients - really fascinating). Myster: The Stephanie Plum Series - really funny. Growing up: White Fang, Black Beauty, Old Yeller and Shiloh. Thanks for the question; I love thinking about all the books I've read.

twilight by stephenie meyer is a new favorite of mine. It is actually sold in the young adult section of bookstores, but don't let that put you off. It is the story of a teenage girl who falls for a vampire. The book is like endless hours of fourplay. You know that they will never have sex being that this is a young adult book, but the beginnings of first romance are enough to make you have goosebumps. My old favorite is gone with the wind by margaret mitchell. Reading this you would think that my favorite genre is romance, but I tend to read a lot of mysteries, and psychological thriller type stuff. My favorite books growing up were the wayside school books by louis sacher, and anything by judy blume. For romance and drama, I would recommend anything by nicholas sparks. For horror definately stephen king. He is the master. For mystery I like jonathan kellerman, and nora roberts writes great romance/mystery books. If you are just wanting a good laugh, anything by janet evanovich is great, but especially the stephanie plum series. I don't really read too much scifi or fantasy.

In what I would recommend, read Christopher Paolini's Eragon, and Eldest. He is currently working on the third in the trilogy, and it will soon be a movie. The theme for it is fantasy, or maybe science-fiction. I am not sure how the library categorized it. It's about a mythical place called Alagaesia, dragons, elves, dwarves, and magic. Kind of a Lord of the Rings-meets-Harry Potter-and-Star Wars, honestly. What a strange combination. Regardless, it is a good book. Things are described beautifully. Paolini even created his own language, the ancient language.

FANTASY, definitely fantasy. I love different worlds, where magic works, and elves, dwarves, and dragons exist. Some of my favorites are:
The Shannara series by Terry Brooks (also his Magic Kingdom books are good)
The Belgariad series by David Eddings
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by Tolkien
any of the Pern books by Anne McCaffrey
Darkover books by Marion Zimmer Bradley
Dragonlance books (many different authors)
And Piers Anthony has several series of books that I like, including Xanth, Incarnations of Immortality, Mode, and the Apprentice Adept .

I now am a fan of true crime books. Somewhere along the way, I lost the ability to imagine more than what is, and became obsessed with reality. Sad, really. Don't let that happen to you. However, when I was a child, I loved the book, "Island of the Blue Dolphins." It was a great tale about a young girl who had to survive on her own.
