That seems to be about right. "Up to 320 songs," keeping in mind that depending on the music and the quality of the music, size is affected.
A sampling of my mp3's shows them to be between 3 and 4 MB each, on average. That will be typical. Your files are averaging 3.9 MB each, which is normal.
My advice has always been to plan on 4 MB for each song, and then do your own math.

keep in mind that your mp3 player can take 512 MB space...thus, that depends on how big each of your mp3 songs are... the 130 songs that your player holds now means that you have consumed around 512 MB of your player space... OR your player may also function as a flash disk and you also have other files in your player such as photos (jpeg, etc) that could consume your player space thus limiting your mp3 songs to 130 only.. =)

because that estimate is based on a person using i-tunes, where the quality is very low. if you are using windows media player, you can change the "snyc" settings to sync the songs at a lower quality and therefore but more songs on. to change the sync setings:
Click the arrow below the Sync tab, point to the device, and then click Advanced Options.
The properties dialog box for your device is displayed. Click the Quality tab, and then select the quality settings you want for music and video. (It is not possible to specify a quality setting for converting pictures.) The actual bit rate of the file might be slightly different than the bit rate you select.

320 short, low quality songs.
Normal songs are about 5 megs, and 5 x 102 is 510, so if you have all your songs good quality between 3-4 minutes, it will probably be about 100 songs.

it's UP TO 320 songs...of lower quality of course
a song (at 128kbps -which is a decent quality), on average is about 3-4 MB...so do the math and you'll see 130 songs take up that much memory space...

512 is the memory capacity for lowest quality songs. The higher the quality the lower the number of songs you can store.
