well you dont need to convert it
right click > properties
Opens with: Windows Media Player > Change ~~~!!!

i dont think you have to convert it. just right click on the file, go to "open with" then "choose program". a list of progs will pop up and you can pick what you want from there. also, if you want that one program to open up those kinds of files from now on, below the list is a check box that says "always use the selected program to open tis kind of file".
