getting to the moon was probably more depending on maths than the technology. and to land on the moon would be a hell of a lot safer than getting through the earth atmosphere. the moons gravity is one / sixth of earths which would give you softer landings. the major problem facing nasa was getting the apollo rocket in to space without them exploding the rest would have been comparitively easy. breaking free of earths gravity was done by the sling shot effect and adjusted by the adjuster rockets.
there was 6 successful landings in all besides sticking up flags
and making speeches there were loads of experiments carry out ie:
soil mechanics
meteoroids
seismic
heatflow
lunar ranging
magnetic fields
and solar wind experiments plus they brought back almost 400 kilograms of lunar samples.
little more detail on two of the experiments
1/ they set up seismicgraphs (one of them broke after 10 minutes of use) to measure the frequency of meteoriods crashing into the moon
2/ they set mirrors on the moon surface to determining the moon's distance from earth to within one inch by senting laser beams from earth to strike of the mirrors and the reflection was sent back giving them the measurement to within one inch.
there is no doubt that some of the pictures were doctored for some reason or other (don't forget this was during the cold war paranoia was ripe) and maybe they set up some of the photos back here on earth in a studio for the public. but they did land on the moon there is no doubt in my mind about that.
there's some of the prove that they landed on the moon. i seen all the conspiricy theories and like everything, if you convince your self or dig enough you will always find the proof that suits you. we all love good conspiricies however did you do any research into the actual landings or did you go straight for the conspiricy?
us humans can be very clever at times just look all around the proof is there.

Wrong. You think the Russians would let us get away with that?
Even if we fooled them, we sent up a huge rocket. Thousands saw it with their own eyes. If you were going to go to all that trouble, you might as well send it the rest of the way to the moon. Besides, 60's technology was fine for the purpose. It was an engineering problem. If you throw enough money at an engineering problem, it usually gets fixed.

Whatever...
Oddly, we've been able to use the laser reflector that Armstrong and Aldrin didn't leave behind on the Moon for almost 40 yrs to measure the distance between the Earth and the non-existent Tranquility Base.

Don't believe the conspiracy theories Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface in 1969 with the words 'one small step for man and a giant leap for mankind'

12 men have walked on the moon.
I think it is safe to assume that the Russians tracked all six Apollo craft all the way to the moon and back. If it had been a hoax, they would have been the first to tell us so, don't you think?

Dumbass. All you conspiracy theorists are full of crap. Every point made to disprove the moon landings has been refuted.
If you are interested in a REAL conspiracy. Consider the JFK assassination which was committed by Elvis. I saw proof of this on the internet so it must be true.

Of course we landed on the moon. We have scientific evidence to prove it. And if it was a hoax what did they hope to gain from it?

No you're not correct. If it had been an elaborate hoax, don't you think someone who was in on it would have spilled the beans, written a book, and sold the movie rights, by now?
