Just type in as many of the words as you know in the yahoo search box enclosed in quotes and search for it. One of the lyrics sites should pop it up for you. Of course the more accurate and unique the words, the more likely you'll find the artist.

type some of the lyrics (like 5-8 words), in quotes, into a search engine and about 99% of the time the artist or song will pop up in the first few lines.
ie ... for 'God bless America'
type:
"from sea to shining sea"
and then hit SEARCH

That happens to me all the time when I'm listening to the radio here's how you figure it out:
*go to google.com
*type in the words that you know followed by the word lyrics.
*the search results will bring up the song your looking for based on the lyrics and give you the lyrics that follow the words you provided.
*From this you should recognize your mystery song

type the lyrics in quotes into a search engine. as long as they aren't generic lines, you should be able to pull up a lyrics site for the song that will tell you what the name and the artist are.
ie. "i don't want to be lonely no more" brings up sites for the lyrics to lonely no more- rob thomas

Sometimes you can call the radio stations and try to sing it for them what yo know of the song and they can usually tell you who sings it. I have to do that sometimes.
