i have a guinea pig born with red eyes. both parents have normal eyes and he is not inbread. is he blind?

he is not albino. he is about half white and the rest brown and light brown

No, he can see just fine. If you want to check just move a finger from side to side in front of his nose and watch closely, his eyes should follow the movement. The red is just a pigment thing, like how one child has brown eyes while the next has blue. Not a big deal, enjoy your furry friends and have a great day.

No, that is a very small chance. It is perfectly natural for a albino animal to have red eyes. And infact, a full albino animal is supposed to have red eyes. So no, your rat is almost definetaly not blind.

If he is white he is not blind. In fact he may see better than his parents and never go blind for having red eyes.

No he is not blind, it is just a characteristics trait that some piggies as do other animals, I have about six piggies in my rescue right now that have red eyes, I even have one that is white with blue eyes, they are just like us. They are all different

No. If hes not an albino he can still have red eyes. It's called lynx Eyed.

Red usually means lack of a color pigment. Use tests to determine site. Use something they like that does not have alot of smell, hold it away and see if they come to it. Like carrots maybe... If you reach toward its face, does it back up before you touch it?

no it is just a miracle cause some blue eyes (humans) get their child gets green/brown eyes

i had one just like that and yes he is albino, i went to a pet shop and asked and they said mine was. same color of eyes and furr.
