You may be surprised by a turtles memory. Turtles have a difficult time when they are relocated in the wild because they don't know where to find certain seasonal food. They spend all there time looking for it and remember where it is from year to year so when they are relocated they have a difficult time adjusting.

I would hope so
When I was a kid I used to find them half-alive on the side of the road all the time. I would take them home, clean them up, feed them for a week or two, and then set them free.
My favorite I had named yurtle (I didn't usually name them so I wouldn't get so attatched. My mom is a smart lady) after a dr. seuss book. He was missing a foot, and it took him a long time to recover. He was a cool little box turtle, had a big thing for bolognia. I hope he (she?) remembers me as fondly as I remember him.
