You have to work at being married no matter what age you are. that is the only way to make it last

I was 19 and it lasted 10 years. Much too young to get married. No man should marry before they are 30 years old. They are mature by then.

Depends on alot of things. Money /education /maturity /backgrounds / family support / etc...
We married young, 21 & 23, and are still married almost 20 years later but we've been through hell & back. Best of luck to you.

My mom and dad have been married 52 years. She was 16 and he was 18 when they tied the knot. Of course, it was a different time then, but who is to say it won't last? It will last if you each put the other first in your lives and COMMUNICATE.
Best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

that's because some people need to exeperience more things and meet more people, have more relationships and make more mistakes before they marry so that they are in the right mind set and don't have wondering eyes while married...also because being married can be hard at times and you need to be prepared for it... there's people who can last though they are few it all depends i guess on how deep your love is

Well I know some that are long lasting but you have soooooo much out there to explore yet. There are so many people to meet and there may be someone better and there may not who knows but at least you will have the chance to explore your options if you wait.

no, people r not discouraging. They just want you to see reality and not be in the clouds. Can you imagine living "in harmony" the next (say) 70 years with him ? If you can say "yes", then I'll have to say "go right on" Good luck, you need it !

my aunt got married when she was 18. everyone told her not to but she did. a couple years later she and her husband decided they shouldn't be married but it must be like the most friendly divorce on record. He got introduced to her best friend and they're happily married, she met another guy and they're happily married, and they still talk. Her ex still visits us too.
