Otherkin. I think there are a lot of fantasy books out there, but I would love to write a book about Otherkin. Of course it would be fiction, but not too fictitious.

Or a horror/thriller/suspense book.

Are you looking for story ideas? LOL. I am starting a novel now. I say, write about what you know & love! I set my novel in a place I love (an island where I honeymooned with my husband) and I'm using real places. My novel has a supernatural element (magic) that is really a metaphor for human kindness and change. The things that are important to me are getting worked into the sub-plots. My characters are not based on people I know, but readers will certainly identify with certain ones. I don't want to give away a lot of my plot here, but just to encourage you to take the most powerful experiences of your life and work from them to write your novel. Good luck.

I would write about the cultural transition from the late 1800's through the roaring twenties, depression, and end of WWII. A lot of material there - big city life, country life, growing industry and new technologies.
