Bless you dear, you are very sensitive to others feelings!
I had a wonderful childhood, though it was hard as my dad was always on the road. My mum bore the brunt of that though with 4 kids to raise and a husband only home every other week end. It was because of this I learned to be self sufficient and independent so it is all good.
My family was not very well off and it was a struggle for mom and dad to feed and clothe us all, but we were happy .

I only had one brother. That and the neighbor kids were plenty to deal with. Don't think any of the parents wanted many more.

The milk man delivered the milk. The Helms bakery guy came by and we could buy fresh donuts right off his truck. The Fuller brush guy delivered combs and brushes. The ice cream man was born in the United States.

There were no seat-belts or padded dashboards in the car, Dad fixed it himself when it needed repairs, its radio was AM and used tubes and there was no air conditioning. Our sparklers were made with a metal wire, we played army men, had BB guns, and played tag. And nobody ever got injured badly or turned into a criminal.

My cousin did catch a nasty case of polio but survived intact. All the kids shared measles, mumps and chicken pox. We played board games in darkened rooms during this time, and we happy that we didn't have to go to school.

On the bad side, dental procedures were REALLY SCARY, and we had more A-bomb drills than fire drills in school. Pity the poor "Curtain Monitor."

No good memories ..... parents had several kids, I'm NOT one of the favorites so was deprived of many things the others got. Also, mainly had hand me downs. Never heard of God when I was so young. Not bad memories right now anymore. Have moved on and am very successful in my own real life now. Life is what we make out of it ! This is my firm belief.
