Put everything in a garbage bag. Done. Just kidding. Honestly the only thing that will make it more FUN is music...since your already doing that....break it down (this is what I do for my kids because it seems too overwhelming for them to just say "clean your room" although they are much younger then you ) First, step away from the computer...then clear off your bed and fix it, then pick up all your clothes and put them in a pile by your door. then, pile everything that is laying around either in the middle of the room or in a empty clothes basket. Once every thing is out of the way straighten up, dust, clean mirrors, hang posters....what ever, then sit in the middle of the room and go though the pile (or basket) The room is done, you just have to put away or throw away all the clutter.

Im a bit of a slob so I know what you mean.
For me, I usually take about 7 trash bags and throw everything away that I have to think twice about keeping. That clears about half of the floor space.
As someone mentioned, do things in categories: Pick up all of the books, then the papers, then the clothes... and so on and so forth.
A hamper came in really handy for me. It makes it loads either to keep clothes off the ground and ready for the laundry.
Finally, to get motivated I usually move my furnature around. It makes me look at things from a new perspective which leads to the excitement of cleaning to make the room even nicer!
Works for me! ;)

Push everything under the bed and in the closet. That's what Dragon always did when her mom made her clean her room. The "cleaning" only lasted as long as was necessary, then everything was all over again, because otherwise Dragon couldn't find anything at all.
Why don't parents understand that everything needs to be on the floor so we don't lose it? Sheesh.

This may not be exactly fun... but it helps if you divide the job into different tasks. First, pick up all the clothes and divide them into things that need hanging, things that need folding, etc... then all the paper stuff... then the books, toys, or whatever is there. That makes it into smaller work. And you can take teeny breaks between them to reward yourself for finishing each task.

Put on some music that makes you want to move and dance around and clean... okay, you don't have to dance but you can move around and wiggle a little and clean... oh, and put the music up really high!

"Just a spoonful of sugar!"
I always turn music up as you've done, and I take breaks often so as not to get overwhelmed with my mess.
