Yeah, 9th grade locker room. It could be that he is envious of the other guy, but if he gets an erection looking at another guy I would think that it is more than envy. Tell your friend that it is OK, don't make an issue out of it, and be a true friend (and yeah, I am gay and wish I had more straight friends in high school)

Yes. And I'm gay but is your friend sure he isn't bisexual. Would he have sex with the guy? Something tells me that he's sexually attracted to the guy if he can look at a guy and get an erection.

It is what it is. Tell your friend not to stress about it. Hell, guys get erections when they play football too. Just think of it as a meter of excitement. And even if on occasion he's turned on in some degree by watching another guy, it doesn't mean anything's wrong. He's just probably got a healthy sex drive and sometimes it kicks into overdrive. Just be his friend and tell him he's ok, not to worry.

If your friend isn't gay, maybe his thoughts just got away while him. People focus on the physical organ and forget that the brain is primary organ that controls all. Maybe your friend just found a certian part of this guy attractive and let his mind do the rest.
