because I get these cramps in my back

I do construction and I'm always bending down to pick up and carry stuff and it dosen't seem to compare to the pain i get from standing and folding clothes

The problem is your shoes. To be on your feet for eight hours, you need a pair with good arch support and thick insoles. Invest in a good shoe and sturdy (removeable) arch/insoles that way you can move them to any pair of shoes.

Sounds like your work surface is too low.
Can you kneel down on a stepstool so you are closer to your work?
You might want to check out a folding board to speed up the process if you do a lot of folding.

you shut up and get back to folding you sissy. i could understand back pain if you were digging ditches or chopping wood, but folding clothes?
