I can't use Sitebuilder anymore because it hasn't been developed for Mac users yet. Any suggestions? I'd hate to have to close my Webstarter account.

Hi, below are some site-building applications you can try. If your Webstarter account supports ftp then all three applications should work ok.

RapidWeaver:

Nvu:
http://www.nvu.com/index.php

iWeb:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/iweb/

iWeb ships with all new Macs currently being sold. If you purchased your Mac fairly recently, then iWeb is already installed.

I had NO PROBLEMS doing this (I made the switch June '06). I thought that people were always saying that files would be incompatible, but all the same files I used on my PC transferred fine over to my Mac (.doc, .mp3, etc). Apart from "x"-ing out of programs (easy to figure out, lol), there's really not a whole lot to get confused on. I will NEVER go back to a PC. When I was first talking to a Mac guy on the phone about "converting", he put it like this...yeah, he still uses PCs if he has to, but it's like using primitive technology. This has been the same for me...I still use a PC (when I'm at my mom's house or on the school computers), but it shocks me how much more difficult it is to navigate around and use PCs. It's strange...you'd think they'd use the easier computers for "beginners" and then switch to PCs for people who need a harder computer to work with (for whatever reason). BTW, when you say iBook, are you sure you don't mean Macbook? The iBook has been out of production for a few years, and the Macbook is the new model. If you get the Macbook, get the black one, because the white tends to stain by the wrist rest. That's the ONLY complaint I've had about my Mac. (Wish I could say the same for my mom's Dell...need to go home and fix her desktop this weekend, lol).

I am not familiar with Sitebuilder. I use NVU but it doesn't have any templates. It is just a free WYSIWYG editor that has stylesheet option. You can get lots of free templates from various web sites if you need a push start.
