DH. Pitchers should have a turn at the plate. Managers in the NL have to think, have to add their pitcher into the equation.
Steinbrenner will be gone long before the DH, therefore the DH is worse.

Totally agree on the DH! It needs to go, and when MLB gets some guts they will hopefully get rid of it.
As bad as Steinbrenner is I think that's only for the other teams and fans of the MLB. He puts a lot of money into his team and sometimes tampers too much, like for the last 5 years.
But the DH has created a gulf. The AL is now about outscoring your opponent and pitching and the strategy you mentioned have declined. Remember when the Yankees of 96 or so and the Angels of 2002 played a real old fashioned game? Now they went for the usual AL style and haven't done as well.

I am a Yankee fan and personally I think Steinbrenner as an owner does things that alot of owners of clubs who have the money should do, spend money to get better players. There are lots of talented players out there, but some teams don't want to spend the money to get them. I think that some players are WAY over paid. A-Rod being one of them. But I think Steinbrenner is doing a good job as an owner. I can think of an owner I could care less for and that's the owner of the Florida Marlins. The team wins the WS 3 years ago, and 2 years later gets rid of 90% of his roster, and has to start over with guys who should still be in the Minors, who played their hearts out for a manager that the players liked and who was fired because he disagreed with the owner.
I hope the Yankee's are back in the series again soon and win a 27th World Championchip.
As far as the DH rule, I don't mind it. It has helped alot of pitchers and players extend their careers.

George Steinbrenner puts his money where his mouth is and that is something that is a rarity in this day and age. If you want something, you go get it otherwise you really don't want it.
And, baseball has rewarded Steinbrenner with attendance breaking records. Take away the NY Yankees and the rest of baseball takes a big dip in attendance and popularity. Yankee Stadium fills up with over 50,000 fans every time they play.
Even when the Yankees have a loosing season, there is a lot of attention paid to them. Lets see how the ratings go during the Tigers/Cardinals World Series....(one big yawn).
And, as far as the DH rule is concerned, it doesn't take away from the strategy of the game, it adds to the strategy of baseball. More options...

Hey, moron
If you are going to cry about Steinbrenner spending a lot of money on payroll, then why don't you mention that the Yankees paid out over $80 MILLION in payroll and luxury taxes last year, that GOES TO OTHER TEAMS???!! That figure will go up again this year. What would YOU do if it was your money? If theYankees didn't spend it on themselves, then it would just be more income to have to share with other teams.
What's worse for baseball, an owner who rightfully puts his money back into his own team? Or teams like Florida, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Tampa Bay whose owners receive revenue sharing dollars to put into their teams, but only pocket the money.
You Yankee haters need to look at all the facts before you ask your stupid one-sided questions.
As for the lack of strategy when the DH is used, yeah it's so much fun to see a weak hitting pitcher strike out, or try to bunt. There is so much strategy involved when a team walks the #8 hitter to pitch to a batter who hits once every five days, or maybe 6 times a year. BORRRRRING!!!

Neither - both are good for the game.
As a Red Sox fan, I cannot help but think that David Ortiz has trumped the strategic points of the game.
While I hate George, he does set an artifical bar defining the epitome of a "paper" ball club. In a "Here's what it should look like" kind of way. Meanwhile, he shares revenue with all the teams and hasn't won a lick since last century.
Oh, and he owned the team that suffered the biggest choke-job evah! 2004 - up 3-0 having just beaten the Sox in Fenway 19-8, cruising to a series sweep........
Aaron Bleeping Boone my Ace.

The ability of Steinbrenner to use unlimited resources to field a team is ridiculous. The Yankees are injured, so what do they do...oh, let's just go out and get Bob Abreau..sure why not, nothing better to do today. I think that sux and needs to be changed. Things need to even out. I'm sure everyone outside of NY would agree.
