This person is soooo inappropriate, it's tempting to just let her dig her own hole, but , sometimes it's just so hard on the head. What to do????

NExt time she says something you think is inappropriate, just say "You know better than that."

Works every time.

Actually, DO let here dig her own hole.

But, when she says something inappropriate, look at her and calmly say, "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Many times, a response such as this will stop a person in their tracks.

The other thing you can do is to politely excuse yourself from conversations with her. Keep doing it and eventually, she will catch on that you don't like her.

If her mouth is a big problem, you may want to report it to your supervisor. Use kind words and tread lightly but express your concerns. You have a right to a peaceful work environment.

sometimes. depends on my mood and the ridiculousness of the question. for instance, "why does obama murder puppies and make little children cry?" i almost popped an aneurysm before i realized that the asker was being facetious. all too often, though, accusations like that are leveled with complete seriousness. those questions will usually inspire me to a totally unreasonable response. another good example is this picture that's making the rounds "proving" that there were nearly two million people at the protest on 9-12. i happened to notice that the american history museum on the corner of 4th & jefferson is missing from the pic, so it's at least several years old. such blatant lies also make my blood boil and cause me to vent my spleen by disgorging bile all over the individual claiming that it's true.

This is a tough one to call. Something needs to be done, but on the flip side you don't want to agitate her further. You might want to address the issue with her when she is relatively calm and clean-mouthed, or file a complaint with a higher-up. Or, letting her dig her own hole will allow people to see what she really is about. I hope this helps and good luck.

Oh, my. What's she saying?!

Sometimes the best response is a dull expression with the mouth slightly open, and then an immediate resumption of the conversation. Preferably with someone else.

try to talk to her about her life, like personal stuff. maybe once you get to know her and see she's really unhappy you'll feel bad for her and understand her a little bit more and she won't seem as annoying.

the most annoying people are usually the ones with the most problems and they're just trying to reach out and get attention

talk to her...communicate, communicate...tell her how u feel....tell her that she's very unprofessional and it affects the team ...some people are naturally tactless but...any behavior can be learned especially for the better...if she's ur subordinate..put it in writing.....or call her in ur office... if she's an equal..approach her in a friendly way...if she's the boss....make her aware and if it still doesnt work...there's always a higher boss....

Let her sink, you can not teach her to have manners, self respect, self esteem or not to be ignorant. I would simply allow her to be herself and not allow it to bother me. Others have to hear her, and sooner or later, hopefully sooner she will be gone looking for a position some where else. god bless

Let her dig her own hole and disregard her.

There is nothing wrong with telling your Boss that you feel uncomfortable.
