Chinese, english, spanish, french... for the 5th, hmm, I'd say the main language in India although I know there are a lot of dialects. I'd be tempted to say Arabic but in Arabic countries they are taught english and/or french... Of course my answer would change if you were talking mother tongue only, fluent only, or some other cut-off for 'spoken language'. My french/creole speaking partner and I usually only speak english with one another and there are times I would say he doesnt speak english, LOL.
HA HA, just read someone saying Who speaks French? Only most Arabic and African countries, half the European countries, Canada, and many educated people throughout the world! Not long ago it was the 'international language', even if english has now pushed it out of the spotlight. I've been brainwashed I see quite effectively, my french in-laws would be so proud of me to read this (only they don't understand english, darn it...)

French? You are kidding, who really speaks French? Ok ok, it is an opinion poll. In my opinion the top 5 would be; Mandarin, English, Hindi, German and Spanish.
